UTI Grup joins the ranks of ISO 37001 – certified companies
UTI Grup is among the first companies in Romania to obtain the ISO 37001 certification and the first company to obtain such certification awarded by an international certification body, PECB (Canada).
The certification acknowledges the company’s robust and well-implemented systems designed to prevent bribery across its business practices.
The certification was awarded following a comprehensive audit that focused on the adequacy of the bribery and corruption prevention system that UTI Grup and its affiliated companies, UTI Servicii și Mentenanță SA, UTI Facility Management SA and UTI Parking and Hotel Management SRL, implemented in compliance with the standard ISO 37001. The bribery and corruption prevention system has been integrated within the processes of the company and has complemented the ethics and compliance policy, the business conduct code, the internal business ethics-related regulations and the corruption prevention and fair competition practices that the company had already implemented.
The audit acknowledged that the corruption risks have been efficiently identified and analyzed, that UTI’s compliance and business ethics program is conceived to limit the corruption-associated risks, in compliance with the international practices (FCPA). The audit was performed by PECB Europe, an independent international company, accredited by the International Accreditation Service Inc (SUA), and was led by one of the international experts that contributed to the elaboration and publication of the anti-bribery certification standard.

The strong points highlighted by the audit include the commitment of the management team and of the shareholders to consolidate an ethical culture within the company, procedures that are well adapted to risks and the active involvement of employees to observe the legal stipulations, as well as the internal regulations.
During the audit and its preliminary stages, UTI Grup has been advised by the law firm Baker Mckenzie (New York, USA) and by the team of Integrity Solutions (Romania).

Published in 2016, ISO 37001 is the first international standard that enables organizations to prevent, detect and tackle bribery through the implementation of an anti-bribery management system and to instill a culture of integrity, transparency and compliance. The standard applies to all type of organizations, both public and private, irrespective of their size and area of activity. The certification in accordance with the ISO 37001 standard acknowledges that the organization has implemented effective anti-bribery control mechanisms.
