UTI announces the completion of Valcea County Hospital project

The renovation and modernization works at Valcea County hospital have been finalized in October 2016. The hospital, currently one of the most important healthcare units in the southern region of Romania, Oltenia, has also become one of the most modern in the country.

UTI took part in the modernization project as a leading contractor in partnership with Romconstruct Holding. The project was co-financed from the Regional Operational Program (ROP) 2007-2013, Priority 3 – Improving social infrastructure, Key area of intervention 3.1 – Rehabilitation / modernization / equipping of health services. It also received financing from the national health budget and the local budget, the total cost of the project reaching around 58 million RON (approx. 13 million euros).

The purpose of the project was to improve the quality and efficiency of the emergency medical infrastructure in Valcea county and provide its citizens with quality and timely healthcare services.

The project consisted of the rehabilitation of the two wings of the hospital and their endowment with medical and non-medical equipment in order to comply with the European standards regarding the emergency medical facilities and also to observe the national laws regarding the public safety.

Within the project, UTI was responsible for the execution, commissioning and testing of the complete electrical and mechanical installations (HVAC), telecommunication and emergency telecommunication (nurse call systems, alarm systems) systems, security and fire prevention system and medical gas installations. The works were completed during February 2013 – October 2016, while the hospital remained functional, the technical team being responsible for ensuring the simultaneous optimal functioning of both the old and new installations and systems.

Other important clients in the healthcare infrastructure for which UTI provided services and solutions are Bagasar Arseni Emergency Hospital in Bucharest, Euromaterna Clinic in Brasov, Regina Maria private medical network in Constanta, Ploiesti Municipal Hospital and Saint Spiridon Hospital in Iasi.
