The water treatment plant in Dorohoi has been modernized

The environment protection and management is one of UTI’s main interests, as the company has been involved in several major projects that contribute to the modernization of the environment infrastructures and consequently lead to pollution reduction.

At the beginning of July 2016, the venture formed of Construcții Erbașu SA (venture leader), UTI Grup SA, Defense Engineering & Consulting SRL, finalized the works for the rehabilitation and extension of the wastewater treatment plant in Dorohoi, as a fundamental component of the overreaching project “Extension and modernization of the water supply and water sewage and treatment systems in the county of Botosani”, co-financed through the Cohesion Fund, Environment POS, 1st Proprietary Axe.

The project that covers the municipalities of Botosani and Dorohoi, Flamanzi, Saveni and Stefanesti towns, M. Eminescu, Broscauti, Frumusica, Vorona and Tudora villages was indented to retechnologize and expand the existing infrastructures by using nonpolluting technologies. The works resulted in a wastewater treatment system capable of reducing the negative impact of pollution on the Jijia river.

The contract was awarded via public bidding in 2013 by the final client Nova Apaserv SA. The total value of the contracted works was 27,585,462.02 lei.

Within the project, UTI has performed mechanical, electric, control, monitoring and data collection (SCADA) works, as well as final testing and checking for all components of the water treatment plant in Dorohoi. Also, our company has executed heating installation, hot water generation (by means of solar panels), HVAC installations, and a security system made up of surveillance cameras and intrusion detection.
