UTI implements smart city projects in Romania that exceed 8 mil lei

UTI is one of the Romanian companies that develops projects with the purpose of transforming the local communities into smart cities by implementing innovative solutions, that contribute greatly to the citizens’ quality of life.

​This year, UTI has attended public bids and has been awarded a few projects in Ploiesti, Pitesti, Bals, Filiasi that meet the citizens’ needs for safety in public spaces and mobility in traffic.

Our company will upgrade the lighting system of 13 junctions and 5 pedestrian crossings in Ploiesti. The project’s value is worth lei 5.299.995, and the works have to be completed by October 2019.

In the last few years, the risks at the level of urban communities have intensified and statistics show that people often feel in danger while being in public spaces. UTI implemented with the Local Police in Pitesti a video monitoring system consisting in 130 state-of-the-art video cameras and the technical infrastructure necessary to integrate the cameras in the Command Center. The project was awarded through public bid and its value is worth lei 414.307. The systems was already set to function by our specialists in November 2018.

For Pitesti UTI will develop the design works for different systems: integrated traffic management, video monitoring (including the public transportation services), parking management and information at the city entrance. The project’s value is worth lei 358.539.

UTI was also awarded two projects in Bals and Filiasi that aim at implementing lighting systems for pedestrian crossings on DN 65 and DN 6. The two works amount to 2,3 million lei and will be completed by the end of 2019.
