UTI tests the technology developed for emergency services

On March the 3rd, UTI tested in Ciolpani, Prahova, the technology developed within the research program COPE – Common Operational Picture Exploitation.. The project aims at elaborating a prevention, management and decisions support system for crisis situations. The demonstration in Ciolpani simulated an earthquake. The sensors platforms developed by the UTI specialists for COPE were meant to help the intervention teams to evaluate the gas concentration in this emergency case and to easily operate to help victims.

The COPE research program is financed by EU and it is elaborated by a consortium formed of UTI, IGSU Romania, VTT Technical Research Centre (Finland), BAE Systems (Operations) Limited (UK), BAE Systems Bofors AB (Sweden), Trinity College Dublin (Ireland), Skysoft S.A. (Portugal), Centre for European Security Strategies (Germany) şi Emergency Services College (Finland).
