Digital signature and encryption solution for Connex

UTI Systems finalised, at the end of 2004, the implementation project of the electronic signature and encryption solution for the workstations within Connex.

The implemented solution is based on shellSAFE, the application suite developed by UTI for desktop securing, and uses the certificates issued by the Connex certification authority, completed by the module accomplished by UTI for “time stamp” services.

shellSAFE provides the users, based on the personal digital certificates issued by the certification authority, electronic signature services (single or multiple document signature), real-time signature validity checking, encryption services (to one or several recipients), secure storage of confidential information on encrypted partitions, file secure deletion for magnetic supports and e-mail customer integration for secure correspondence.

Within the project, the Connex and UTI Systems specialists defined after an analysis, the demands specific to the integration of the UTI solution within the Connex information security systems. The adjustment of the shellSAFE suite to the Connex demands had been performed during a month, while the whole project was completed in less than three months, being appreciated by the end user.
