UTI and Astra Vagoane Calatori qualified for the World Cup in Brazil

Although our national team as not present at the World Cup in Brazil, Romania is successfully represented at the largest sports event dedicated to football and that takes place this year. Thus, Astra Vagoane Calatori produced 95 train cars that are used throughout Brazil in order to transport supporters and tourists to games, and UTI endowed these train cars with video surveillance, fire detection and entertainment systems. All the above-mentioned systems were integrated, and a dedicated management software was developed.

The security and entertainment equipment used by UTI specialists for this project are state of the art, some of them the company’s own products, while others – developed by world famous producers. The hard work resulted in efficient, reliable solutions that can be successfully used for similar projects.

The agreement between UTI and Astra Vagoane Calatori was signed in 2012 and was completed at the beginning of 2014. The beneficiary of this collaboration is a large Brazilian company, headquartered in Rio de Janeiro.

The acceptance of the train cars with the above-mentioned endowments was carried out in two stages: the first one in Arad, at the Astra Vagoane Calatori headquarters together with the final beneficiary, and the second – in Brazil.

ASTRA Vagoane Calatori’s main object of activity is the construction and repair of rolling stock. In its production sections, the company produces and tests passenger cars, cases, wagons and a wide range of components.

The company has all the capacities for the production of all types of 200 km/h passenger cars for internal and international UIC traffic, metros, trams, maintenance, reconstruction and modernization services for passenger and tram cars, as well as turnkey solutions for passenger transportation.
