UTI tests in Finland the technology developed for emergency services

Between the 8th and the 13th of May 2010, UTI attended a testing and demonstration program in Finland within the research program COPECommon Operational Picture Exploitation. The project aims at elaborating a prevention, management and decisions support system for crisis situations. The demonstration in Finland is the second phase of a testing agenda that started with the demonstration in Ciolpani, Romania, held on the 3rd of March 2010.

The testing and demonstration in Finland took place at the Kuopio Emergencies Services College. Students and trainers belonging to the education institute attended the event, as well as specialists of the Finn Emergency Services.

The COPE research program is financed by EU and it is elaborated by a consortium formed by UTI, IGSU Romania, VTT Technical Research Centre (Finland), BAE Systems (Operations) Limited (UK), BAE Systems Bofors AB (Sueden), Trinity College Dublin (Ireland), Skysoft S.A. (Portugal), Centre for European Security Strategies (Germany) and Emergency Services College (Finland).
