certSIGN, re-accredited as supplier of electronic signature certification services

certSIGN, UTI affiliate, was re-accredited at the end of July as supplier of electronic signature certification services, after going through the re-accreditation procedure and the audit carried out by Ernst&Young.

Similar to the accreditation procedure provided in the Technical and Methodological Norms for the enforcement of Law 455/2001 regarding the electronic signature, the re-accreditation procedure must be carried out by certification services suppliers once every three years, before the validity of their accreditation expires.

In view of re-accreditation, the service supplier must, according to law, request the Ministry of the Informational Society a new accreditation and go through a security audit in order to prove it meets all the conditions necessary for issuing qualified certificates and that it uses secured devices for generating homologated electronic signatures.

After completing the audit carried out by Ernst & Young, certSIGN was re-accredited as supplier of electronic signature certification services, by the Order of the Ministry of the Informational Society no. 456/07.31.2014. The new accreditation is valid until July 31, 2017.

certSIGN has been an accredited supplier of certification services since 2006, currently owning the largest digital certificate distribution network in Romania, with over 500 partners nationally.

Leader of the digital certificate market in Romania, certSIGN is the only Romanian certification authority accredited by WebTrust and the only supplier accredited for providing, by means of its own services, a complete solution for implementation of electronic invoices as per the provisions of the Fiscal Code.

certSIGN issues the only digital certificates in Romania which are considered trustworthy by the main operating systems and web browsers in the world: Windows, iOS and Android, and Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari and Safari Mobile respectively.
