UTI finalizes the construction of Terminal 3 at Iasi International Airport
On October 17, 2015, the newest passenger terminal at Iasi International Airport has been inaugurated. This is the final stage of the airport modernization and development stage, financed through European Funds. The airport terminal is UTI’s latest reference work finalized in 2015.
During the excavation works, over 17,000 m3 of land were excavated, 1,000 m3 of concrete were used for the foundation and 200 tons of iron were used to produce the metallic structure that supports the terminal. To perform all works in a very short period of time, we allotted a team of 150 specialists (technicians, engineers, and designers) who worked unceasingly to finish the project in time.
The terminal’s surface is of 3,600 m2, it hosts 6 check-in desks and has the capacity to process 360 passengers/hour. The airport is endowed with equipment and system that comply with the latest international and European regulations on airport comfort and security. Of all the installed equipment, mention must be made of the luggage conveyer belts that integrate 5-security level cutting edge technology.
A novelty is represented by the automated passenger access control system, equipped with a bar code reader, a first for the airports in Romania. Thanks to its cutting-edge equipment, complaint with the latest airport security regulations, Iasi International Airport has become one of the most modern airports in the country and an important connection to major European cities.
