Bucharest underground transport system was inaugurated in November 1979. In 2015, the metro network system was composed of 4 metro lines with 51 stations, measuring 69.25 kilometers (43.0 mi), ensuring the daily transportation of over 600,000 passengers, in almost all the areas of the capital.
Since 2009, Metrorex has undergone a massive modernization and extension program of the Bucharest underground transport system. UTI took part in almost all the phases as a technical subcontractor.
The works provided by our company helped Metrorex increase equipment efficiency and optimize transport, increase transport, and passenger safety, reduce transport time.
